Born August 2, 1959 in Pozardziai village, Kaisiadoriai district.In 1966-1974 attended Trakai district Beizonys middle school, in 1974-1977 attended Trakai secondary sport boarding school, in1977-1982 Vilnius Pedagogical Institute.
In 1982-1984 worked as a teacher in Moletai district Dapkuniskai basic school, in 1984-1988 as a principal.
In 1988-2003 was Anyksciai district Traupis basic school principal.
In 1993 awarded a title of a biology teacher methodologist, in 1994 a title of an expert.
In 2003-2007 was Anyksciai district mayor’s deputy, since 2007 Anyksciai mayor.
Every year he is lecturing at the regional and country’s scientific conferences.
The author of more than 300 popular science articles on plants, rare vegetables, Lithuanian nature in printed press, such as: “Journal about Nature” (lt. „Žurnalas apie gamtą“), “Lithuania in the World”, “Botanica Lithuanica”, “Lithuanian Morning” (lt. „Lietuvos rytas“), “the White Stork” (lt. „Baltasis gandras“), “Colors of the Orchid” (lt. „Sodo spalvos“), “Farmers Newspaper” (lt. „Valstiečių laikraštis“), “Dew” (lt. „Rasos“), “Anyksta”, “Red Leaves” (lt. „Raudoni lapai“), etc.
The coauthor of booklets, such as: “City Trees” (lt. „Miesto medžiai“), “Pakruojis District Nature” 1999, “Berries” (lt. „Uogos“), “the Wonderful World of Plants” 2000, “Garden Planting” (lt. „Sodelį sodinau“) 2006, the author of “ Raseiniai District Nature”, “Rokiskis District Nature”, “Utena District nature”, the author of a book “In the Vortexes of Ecological Education” (lt. „Ekologinio ugdymo sūkuriuose“), dedicated to professor Sapokiene 1998, the coauthor of books: “Sirvintos District Nature” 2003, “Me, Anyksciai Forest” (lt. „Aš, Anykščių šilelis“) 2006, “Inside Lithuanian Woods” (lt. „Lietuvos giriose“), etc.
In 2001 awarded V.Adamkus prize, in 2006 awarded a title “Village Ray of Light 2005” by the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture.
At the Traupis school founded the only in the country school botanical garden, which has more than 5000 plant species and genus.
Member of the Lithuanian Society of Mycologists, board member of the Lithuanian Society of the Dendrologist, member of the Lithuanian Society of Florists.
Since 1993 researching plants of the protected territories and biodiversity of the districts of Anyksciai, Utena, Rokiskis, Jonava, Sirvintos, Pakruojis, Moletai.
The chairman of the Society for Conservation of Biodiversity, one of the cofounders and a board member of a plant education and protection club “Medumele.”
Is a member of Anyksciai district municipal board, a chairman of Anyksciai division of Tėvynės Sąjunga party.
Hobbies are plant research and cultivation, article and book publishing, basketball, politics.
Wife, Alyte, born in 1964, is a teacher. Children: Sigita born in 1986, is Siauliai University student, Ginta born 1987, is Siauliai University student, Mindaugas born in1989, is Vilnius Pedagogical University student, Zygimantas born 1992, a pupil.
